New York life Insurance Company is seeking a highly-talented, driven team player eager to join the Guaranteed Products team within Institutional Annuities, focusing on the Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) and Retirement Income businesses. The Senior Associate role requires a highly organized problem solver with a track record of working collaboratively with multiple teams. The individual will ensure that PRT deals are effectively executed from beginning to end, starting with the evaluation of RFP opportunities through the issuance of annuitant certificates. The individual will also assist with the development of a lifetime retirement income solution for the DC market. The individual should have a strong understanding of defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans as well as the pension risk transfer landscape. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of similar experience at an insurance company or an actuarial consulting firm.
Pension Risk Transfer, Senior Associate
Responsibilities:
Pension Risk Transfer
* Summarize and forecast sales projections using Excel; provide analysis of PRT business metrics to identify key areas of growth and improvement
* Create presentations and coordinate stakeholder meetings. Lead internal and external discussions to ensure transactions are executed successfully
* Responsible for relationship management internally and externally
* Coordinate across internal stakeholders (legal, pricing, investment, risk, finance, etc) to ensure profitability and success of the PRT product. Review new business opportunities and cascade or escalate information internally as needed
* Coordinate with external stakeholders (consultants, intermediaries, clients) to manage ongoing deals, assess new business opportunities, and gather business intelligence
Retirement Income
* Responsible for assisting in the research, development and eventual relationship management role of retirement income solution for institutional plans

* Handles multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
* Bachelor degree in mathematics, economics, finance, actuarial science or other business-related areas with strong quantitative and analytical skills
* 5+ years of experience within an insurance company or actuarial consulting firm
* Strong Microsoft Office Skills particularly Excel, Word, Powerpoint
* Pension or PRT experience is preferred; pension expertise including a strong understanding of qualified defined benefit plans, understanding of institutional pension/retirement business and pension risk transfer
* Candidates must be willing to obtain Life/Accident/Health insurer licensing credentials
