The Database Engineering Manager will support the enterprise database infrastructure requirements from an engineering perspective. The role will also be the subject matter expert for database technologies. The Database Engineering Manager will supervise database engineers to provide solid database infrastructure design and architecture. The role will also be responsible for maintaining the areas project and interfacing with vendors on new products and technologies.

Experience

* Experience in project management

* Analytical Skills Makes decisions based on on-going review of data that can affect the project
* Time Management Multi-tasking and working on multiple priorities at once
* Experience in prevailing industry architecture and engineering methodologies such as TOGAF or Zachman

Qualifications/Skills

* 15+ years in overall database experience including Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, IDMS and DB2
* Experience in different environments including the Mainframe, Linux and Windows
* Strong communications and documentation skills
* Excellent problem solving, communications, prioritization and organizational skills
* Executes with minimal direction
* Highly collaborative and team oriented
* Proven executive and/or public speaking skills
* Proven ability to strategically analyze risks, benefits and opportunities associated with technology solutions
* Ability to guide and mentor associates

Education

* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology preferred
* Certification in ITIL preferred
