Azure Reliability is dedicated to making,
Azure the safest and most reliable Cloud.
We are an engineering organization working horizontally across Azure to systemically lift overall platform reliability to benefit our customer's experience of Azure as a whole. We are building a holistic understanding of the Azure platform ( a digital twin) to empower better reliability decisions. We're doing this by building a central clearinghouse for risk and change information gathered through a combination of proactive and reactive analysis of our systems and incidents.
We deep dive into specific service areas, establishing long term engagements to engineer reliability into our most important services. In parallel we're working to improve our ability to manage Azure at scale, implementing consistent approaches to *how* we manage the platform.
Accurate data is the foundation of nearly all operational data insights work and is also key in responding to security incidents and maintaining compliance. The AzRel team plays a critical role by ensuring timely, accurate, and comprehensive data insights to meet many business-critical partner requirements. Our team's larger mission is to improve Microsoft Azure and other services' availability, reliability, and resultant customer satisfaction by creating and leveraging trusted data, models, and insights on top of the foundational service.
As a Principal Data Scientist on the AzRel team, you will be using data science techniques and statistical analysis, paired with your ability to architect, design, and develop systems, in order to provide key insights that optimize the immense growth of Microsoft's world-class cloud services. You will also be analyzing the data and metadata produced by your tools to explore and identify opportunities to improve Azure Production. Your leadership, both technical (data science, software engineering, data modeling) and non-technical, will be critical in ensuring that our system grows with engineering rigor and scalable design. You will understand partner requirements and the Azure ecosystem in order to determine how the system can grow to meet those needs. This is an opportunity to make an impact on the global systems and thought processes for the largest Cloud infrastructure on the planet.
