The Spartans team is part of WebXT (Web Experiences Team) at Microsoft, and it is looking for premier software engineers. We are a team of elite engineers with experience in scalable online technologies. We take on very high impact and valuable work and use our expertise to deliver it quickly. There is never a dull project in our portfolio; we are simply always working on the most strategic areas of Bing, Ads, News, Maps etc.

WebXT is right in the center of that vision, providing some of the most successful products/services to customers such as Bing, Ads, News, and Maps, or the brains behind several other products in Microsoft such as Office, Windows, Skype, Teams among others. You have a CS degree and enjoy learning and ramping up on new technologies quickly? Join this elite team! While experience with AI, Bing or Ads would be beneficial, the team is willing to invest in ramping up and improving your skills!

* Write solid production-quality code that is simple, extensible, and maintainable with very few defects.
* Write sufficient tests, logging, monitoring and alerts.
* Measure and analyze the metrics for the features shipped.
* Seek opportunities in code and processes to improve quality and efficiency.
* Participate in agile development process.

Work closely with PM and Designers to create delightful user experiences.

Required qualifications/experience:

* 3-5 years experience working as a software engineer
* Development skills in either C or C++ or Java
* Demonstrate strong software design skills
* Strong problem-solving skills, cultivate positive relationships, and has clear communication and coordination skills
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field required

Additional qualifications and experience preferred:

* Experience with OOP, TDD, and agile development models
* Experience with Microsoft Azure services is highly desirable
* Experience with SQL, NoSQL, and Big Data technologies
* Experience in implementing cross-browser web applications
* Experience building web services using ASP.NET (or similar technologies) and SDKs based on REST APIs, ODATA or JSON
* Knowledge of Windows, iOS/OSX, Android app development
* Machine learning model development
* Experience with Bing or Ads technology stack
