PowerBI is quite possibly the most exciting Microsoft service today, frequently in the news, growing its user base very rapidly, and making waves across the industry. The Middle Tier service team is a core component of PowerBI. We rely on different Azure technologies like Service Fabric, SQL Azure, REDIS cache, Service Bus, APIM, Blob storage, Document DB, Azure Data Lake, Kusto, Containers etc. We are building a world class service that combines big data, mission critical data and real-time data. This combination makes this area possibly the most cutting edge across the entire industry! We are looking for passionate developers with well-rounded experiences working with all service aspects of high throughput and multi-tenant Azure services, ability to design components carefully to handle errors of different types on Azure, write clean and well-factored code with good tests and good maintainability and an ability to program proficiently in C. Familiarity with big data, machine learning and data analytics would be a bonus. You should thrive on the services lifestyle. A desire to build out large and profitable business working with a small and agile team is a plus - that automatically entails wearing different hats as needs arise, and developing a global and ownership-oriented outlook about the service. The right candidate should also care deeply about delighting the customer and iteratively improving all aspects of that experience.

We are looking for a passionate principal developer with well-rounded experiences working with all service aspects of high throughput and multi-tenant services, ability to architect big parts of the service, design components carefully, properly handle errors, write clean and well-factored code with good tests and good maintainability and an ability to program proficiently in C.

Familiarity with big data and data analytics would be a bonus. You should thrive on the services lifestyle. A desire to build out large and profitable business working with a small and agile team is a plus.

The right candidate should also care deeply about delighting the customer and iteratively improving all aspects of that experience.

You will be leading larger projects, driving the architecture, design and delivering the big components of the projects. You will be mentoring and guiding other team members.

* 8+ years software development experience with deep knowledge of C (preferable), Java, or C++ with solid engineering practices
* 3+ years of experience architecting highly scalable cloud services
* 3+ years of T-SQL development (stored procedures, functions etc) with solid understanding of Microsoft SQL Server
* Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Design, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

* Passion for building performant scalable services. Experience with Azure/AWS or other cloud computing platforms is a plus
* Outstanding technical problem solving and debugging skills
* Passion for quality with experience designing and implementing automated tests, including unit tests and integration tests
* Effective communication skills
