Are you excited about the possibility of working on the largest cloud storage service in the world? Azure Storage team is chartered with building and operating the persistent storage for the entire Microsoft Azure cloud! Azure Storage consists of a platform which currently powers six different storage services - Files, Disks, Blobs, Data Lake, Tables, and Queues. We are looking for a talented software developer who can drive design, implementation, and optimization of the Azure Files service (https://aka.ms/AzureFiles). Azure Files offers fully managed cloud storage that is compatible with on-premises file servers, both Windows and Linux-based, can scale up to exabytes of storage, and provide world-class reliability, performance, and security.

1. Your responsibilities will include developing features to improve performance and scale targets of the Azure Files cloud platform. You will also be a part of a world class, collaborative team of engineers building software using agile methodologies and DevOps to run live site for the service.
2. You will have a platform to learn and research technologies, propose solutions, evaluate multiple design options, make recommendations and decisions, implement solid and efficient engineering practices, and work cross-group with our partners to build world class end to end solutions that will delight our customers.
3. You need to be passionate about technology, innovation and creating distributed cloud platform services and enterprise-grade software, as well as working on challenging new features in a relatively young and fast paced product development environment.
4. You should be motivated to make an impact, eager to learn and grow, comfortable dealing with ambiguity, and enjoy creative thinking.

Basic Qualifications:

* 3 years of experience in scalable system software and/or Services.
* 2 years experience withmulti-threaded/asynchronous application development using C, C++, C or Java.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with performance benchmarking, profiling and optimization of large scale distributed applications.
* Storage and file systems experience is a plus
* Experience in development of cloud services and distributed systems is a plus
* Experience with debugging tools like WinDBG, Wireshark etc. is a plus
* Windows or Linux operating system knowledge is a plus

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
