Azure Data is a world leader in data management and processing with a robust portfolio of products and services such as (BDC) and Azure Synapse. We build reliable, cloud scale and high-performance distributed systems for transactional data processing and big data analytics. Azure Synapse and BDC are the next generation big data analytics and AI platforms targeting hybrid and multi-cloud scenarios. This is an area with tremendous growth potential ahead of us. We have already witnessed massive growth in demand for our service since its public preview.

The SQL Server team is looking for great talent to take on the challenges to define and implement this innovative distributed big data platform. If you are interested in improving performance and developing new features for SQL Server, Azure Synapse SQL, Distributed Storage, Hadoop, Spark, and other components of the big data stack, this role will offer you exciting opportunities. You will have the chance to dive deep and tackle technical challenges in the most popular open-source big data projects with the community. You will have opportunities to work closely with and learn from our database experts in SQL Server. Our vision is to deliver the best big data analytics and AI platform wherever the customer data lives, on-premises or in the Cloud.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Mathematics or Physics or IT technical discipline or 10+ years of industry engineering experience.
* 10+ years of programming experience in Java OR C++ OR C OR Python OR Scala OR object-oriented programming.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Distributed storage and object store.
* Database engines, data warehouse technologies, distributed systems, cloud computing, operating systems and networking stack
* Kubernetes and container technologies
* Security and Identity Management Systems like OAuth/OIDC
