The goal of MCDS (Microsoft Cloud Data Sciences) team is to foster a data-driven culture; to encourage and enable the entire organization to make more informed decisions through data. In support of this mission, the MCDS Program Management team works closely with business, marketing, finance, and engineering teams to identify opportunities for improving the customer experience and accelerating the growth of our business. We then work across our internal/sister teams (Analytics+Inference, Machine learning, Data Engineering) to develop and deploy a data solution to meet the business need.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a senior member of the program management team you will:
* Develop strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, become a subject matter expert, and understand their data science needs and help make decisions on program improvements.
* Be comfortable exploring and investigating large data sets, sniffing out insights and gaps that impact our projects. You will educate others on the nuances of different data sets and recommend how our team can best leverage those data sets across different projects and programs for greater business impact.
* Create engineering specifications that will be used to get our team's insights into our engineering platform and other partner and customer-facing portals.
* Be an active learner and problem solver, eager to work alongside data scientists and engineers across the organization to execute projects and maximize business impact.
* Develop plans to drive clarity and inter-team coordination, identify risks and develop mitigation strategies, highlight cross-team dependencies and influence engineering prioritization.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* 7+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or business strategy.
* 4+ years of strong hands-on skills in SQL, R, or Python to implement statistical models, machine learning, and analysis (prediction, classification, clustering, time series forecasting, regression models, etc).
* Previous product analytics experience where telemetry data was used to understand how customers interacted with a product or service, which features were most used, and what experiences led to customer friction or trouble.
* Functional knowledge of cloud computing and online services business models, including business, technical, and operational metrics.
* Strong business acumen to understand which projects best support overall business strategy, and which types of data insights apply to strategy goals.
