The WCB Business Planning & Analytics Finance team is seeking a Sr Finance Manager to work in a highly collaborative, fast paced (and fun) environment to support Enterprise Azure fiscal year planning and investment analytics.
The role requires a high degree of agility and skill in navigating multiple senior stakeholder requirements while enabling the accelerated growth aspirations for the business in a highly competitive market environment. To be successful, the individual needs to be highly collaborative, self-motivated and be curious in learning the sales motion performance drivers and products.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as a strategic and trusted advisor to WCB and GSMO leaders to influence business direction, development, and investment models for the Enterprise business. Work with sellers and customers to identify hypothesis and work towards solutions.
* Model and analyze key revenue and strategic drivers to influence and drive future year planning decisions and strategic activities.
* Model new product/channel/sales motion introductions. Quantify business needs and support with justifiable ROI.
* Analyze and advise on business investments (people, incentives, opex) and corresponding ROI.
* Partner across the Enterprise, SMC and SMB segment business and finance leaders to ensure alignment across the entire business. Work with WWIC and HR/compensation to execute on strategic vision for fiscal year planning.
* Collaborate with manager to identify high impact projects that will drive business success and align to your personal development goals.
* Strategic role in landing organizational headcount blueprints. Partner with Corp Blueprint Leads and Finance teams as well as Field Leadership to ensure successful strategy and landing of blueprints.
Prioritize
Directs, performs, and reviews analysis and research of present and future financial
performance, financial plans (e.g., expected returns, resource allocation, pricing, investment
opportunities) and economic transactions (e.g., customer deals, commercial partnerships,
acquisitions, etc.). Gathers, prepares, and summarizes recommendations.
Directs analysis, modeling, and research to support preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles;
partners and solicits insight from business and commercial stakeholders. Prepares and
summarizes recommendations.
Guides others to provide business leader support and actionable insights during financial
close periods. Reviews recurring financial reporting and presentations; identifies trends, and
formulates action plans. Determines financial results (e.g., revenue, profitability, OPEX, etc.)
and conducts variance analyses; identifies variance causes and solutions. Collaborates and
empowers others to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results.
Directs and coaches teams as they leverage relationships with customers and partners;
oversees complex negotiations with customers; ensures that organization and teams remain
customer-centric; strives to develop strong relationships with customers; develops
capabilities of teams to engage with customers on their wider relationships with Microsoft.
Partnership
Provides business insights and recommendations to peers and stakeholders to achieve
revenue and profitability goals (e.g., resource allocation, cost optimization, revenue
generation) and drive shareholder return. Collaborates with business leaders to define action plans for financial and business analysis findings. Ensures the business partner
perspective is understood and prioritized by less experienced employees.
Applies advanced understanding of Microsoft Finance and business (e.g., monetization
strategy, market, key drivers, revenue channels, advanced technology, and business partner
work context), as well as external factors, to multiple situations to evaluate results and
analysis. Maintains working knowledge of Microsoft financial systems, policies, and
processes to evaluate potential impacts of changes, and drive improvements in efficiency
and accuracy. Coaches others to understand the business and drivers of key metrics.
Contributes to new and unconventional methods and approaches to data collection,
analysis, interpretation, and financial models. Provides advice and direction to teammates
and peers on data management and operations.
Leverages latest set of tools (business intelligence, predictive analytics, etc.) to drive
assessment and dialogue around business forecast and growth strategies. Leads efforts to
optimize report performance and automation.
Coaches team to translate data into a simplified engaging message with actionable insights.
Facilitates a shared understanding and awareness of business partner situation.
Protect
Directs team and holds others accountable to ensure financial control processes, policies,
instruments, and procedures are executed. Directs team and influences peers to identify and
share risks to compliance and take steps to mitigate. Models a compliant culture through
actions and decisions to instill trust; advocates, educates, and promotes best practices and
new developments. Collaborates with Compliance groups to ensure team is current on
company policies and procedures.
* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data
Science, or related field AND 4+ years of post-graduate financial analysis,
accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
u25AA Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics,
Data Science, or related field AND 2+ years of post-graduate financial
analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
