As a Senior Firmware Architect at Micron Technology, Inc., you will participate in architecting high-performance controller firmware for innovative volatile and non-volatile memory systems. In this position, you will collaborate with ASIC and NAND teams to provide Best in Class solution for the Enterprise and Cloud marketplace. Particular attention will be paid to design for performance and QoS. You can expect to work closely with architects and engineers from ASIC, HW and FW development as well as test, system failure analysis, tools developers and production engineers to solve multi-functional product architecture and development issues.

In this role you will work with system, hardware and other firmware architects to define, design and help lead implementation of the firmware stack for new ranges of Micron developed SSD products. These will be designed to be optimized with the latest high efficiency NAND flash and other future solid-state memory with particular emphasis on the Enterprise and Cloud marketplace in terms of power, reliability, cost, performance and QoS.

This is a key role in advancing our overall business with wide ranging impact across our organization and company and requires minimum 15 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

* Solving and documenting challenging system level technical problems, demonstrating proficiency in coding skills, verification/validation, simulation, failure analysis, ASIC/FPGA/System bring-up to use tools that support these activities.
* Validate customer requirements and perform failure analysis on system related issues.
* Develop new test tools and methods to verify architectural decision.
* Demonstrate the effective analysis of functional or performance issues with the firmware and hardware in test environments or target host systems.

Qualifications:

* Experience in embedded firmware architecture
* Experience in design for QoS architectures with control latency environments
* Experience in the storage industry, with emphasis on SSDs
* Understanding of storage interfaces with PCIe/NVMe a must.
* Experience with advanced NAND flash and other non-volatile storage
* Knowledge of current state of the art development and profiling tools and their real-world application
* Experience in Server architecture and knowledge of emerging trends, like CXL.

Education:

BS in Computer Science or equivalent is required, Masters Degree in relevant field is preferred
