The IT department at Micron is looking for a forward-thinking creative to join our IT Technical Communication and Learning Services (ITTCLS) team as a Content Developer. The bulk of our work involves generating content in a variety of mediacommunications, awareness or training campaigns, newsletters, SharePoint online sites, webinars, videos, in-person town hall events, and moreto ensure Micron team members are aware of and know how to use available IT tools, services, and capabilities.
One day will be spent interviewing an IT operations manager to get some basic questions answered, while drafting a communication plan, and the next may be spent choosing the right mix of media and information architecture to help a particular audience use collaboration tools more effectively.
We work regularly with Micron teams both within and outside of IT to make our internally used technologies more approachable and consumable. Candidates should also be comfortable interacting with a diverse cast of characters from long-time leaders to highly technical software engineers.
The ideal candidate works independently, balances multiple activities at the same time, sets priorities, and pivots to new tasks quickly. Creativity, organization, clear communication, and an eye for clean design are required. Candidates should be comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Collaboration with peers, leaders, and global counterparts is essential.
Responsibilities and Requirements
* Work with business partners on content needs, which could include email communications, newsletters, online articles, SharePoint sites, training materials, videos, and webinars.
* Identify key content objectives within a project and build a plan and timeline to deliver that content.
* Break down large, sophisticated technology deployment information into clear, concise communication and training content for a broader audience.
* Develop and write communication for email, newsletters, presentations, SharePoint sites and training materials.
* Create and update SharePoint online sites and pages.
* Track workloads in project management tools like Azure DevOps and ServiceNow.
* Some organizational change skills may be needed for larger projects.
* Work directly with internal customers to ensure consistency and continuity.
* Develop, produce, and socialize internal media solutions to inform and engage team members with available technologies. Media solutions may include, but are not limited to, SharePoint sites, presentations, videos, photos, brochures, infographics, e-learning, illustrations, and other visual identities.
* Become familiar with Microns corporate and IT brand guidelines. Establish project-specific brands and carry those through multiple deliverables (i.e., web, presentation, email, video, etc.).
* Independently research and quickly learn information to support quick moving projects and accommodate high levels of demand.
* Support, assess, and communicate key changes and project initiatives from IT that affect the rest of the global enterprise
Qualifications
* Strong communication experience.
* Basic skills with mixed media creation, design, video, etc.
* Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
* Experience with SharePoint Online.
* Familiarity with the O365 productivity suite and standard collaboration tools.
* Experience with communication planning, consulting, training program, and content development required.
* Effective collaborative, a team-player with a positive attitude.
Experience
* 2+ years of experience in SharePoint content development
* 2+ years of experience in communications and/or communication planning, marketing, or journalism
* Degree or certification in Communications, Organizational Comm, Marketing, Professional Writing, or any mixed media design
* Mixed media creation, including video and graphic design experience highly desired
