Job Purpose:

Work with members of the Veterinary and Consumer Affairs team focusing on animal welfare.

Job responsibilities:
Assist with planning, organizing, and hosting virtual and in-person Animal Welfare events, podcasts, written blogs. Assist with the development and writing of scientific articles and research papers. Research and develop communication materials for internal and external audiences on animal welfare topics.

The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

* Candidates must be Animal Welfare, Animal Behavior, or One Health focus on pursuing their college degree (s).

* Candidates must be pursuing a BS, MS, Ph.D., or DVM degree.

* Candidate must have management skills for organizing and hosting meetings or events.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

* Candidates should have experience in research study design.

* Candidate should have experience in scientific literature writing.

* Candidates should have project management experience.

* Candidates should have passion for exploring national and international animal welfare developments.

* Candidates should have social media expertise; blogs, podcasts, LinkedIn, Twitter (Communication skills).

The intern will have the opportunity to organize and assist in animal welfare projects and programs within the Veterinary and Consumer Affairs Team's responsibilities. Leadership and organizational skills will help the team with events, studies, and communication with stakeholders. Must be comfortable with managing their time wisely as the position is field-based with limited direct oversight.

Travel will be required as allowed with the lifting of the COVID restrictions by our Company Animal Health.
