* Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent qualifications
* Professional Engineering (P.E.) license preferred
* Minimum 5 years experience in design engineering, technical support or technical sales role
* Construction Industry experience preferred
* Previous experience working in the fastening or building construction industry preferred
* Impeccable communication skills both spoken and written mandatory
* Able to handle multiple priorities, organize, plan, and meet difficult deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
* Strong Interpersonal, negotiation, follow-up, and documentation skills
* Working knowledge of computer applications including MS Office suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), experience with Salesforce.com is a plus
* Excellent presentation skills in front of large groups
* High energy, out-going, and goal-oriented eager to meet and exceed goals and targets
* Self-starter with ability to manage own schedule and work as home-based
* Technical sales experience a plus
* Construction jobsite experience a plus
* Travel Expectations: Up to 75% of time traveling within territory

What Youll Do
The Field Engineer is responsible for generating new business and ensuring future growth of specified fastening product line and complimentary tools and accessories. The Field Engineer will accomplish this by working with structural engineers to specify fastening products, as well as with our sales team to assist contractors and distributors during the bidding, submittal and construction phases of a project. Specifically, youll:

* Develop a strong technical understanding of specified fastening products (under the DEWALT, Powers and Elco brands), how they are used in construction and how they are designed in accordance with current building codes
* Establish relationship with key specifying engineering firms in the territory
* Influence designers, architects and engineers to specify fasteners through regular scheduled visits, education and technical communication
* Assess potential application of company products and offer solutions to meet customer needs
* Hold regular technical presentations and training seminars for design professionals related to the design of Powers and Elco products with a focus on testing details, product performance, characteristics, applications and code requirements
* Use technical knowledge of products to support and build sales on specification and conversion in conjunction with local sales team and provide technical job-site support as needed
* Provide assistance on proprietary technical anchor design software to clients and communicate customer feedback for future product developments
* Support local sales efforts from a technical level including jobsite visits
* Ensure submittals generated by contractors are approved by architects and engineers
* Research and present reports showing potential customers the cost benefit of purchasing company products
* Embrace and become versed in construction technology and future trends influencing the specified fasteners business such as Building Information Modeling, Integrated Project Delivery and construction software.
* Develop and maintain client records in CRM tool
