Job Description

Hours: 2:00pm - 10:00pm

About the role:

Provide injection molding expertise including mold and process setups; process troubleshooting & optimization; verification of part quality and process parameters; mold evaluation and recommendation of repairs/modifications; and basic mold and equipment maintenance. In addition, support engineering activities that include executing validation protocols, summarizing validation results and project tasks.

Your Responsibilities Include:

Support all plastic processes, including PEG and extrusion areas as needed, while maintaining a safe environment for all employees

Train technicians on the proper use and set-up of process monitoring systems.

Train and oversee technicians and/or product builders while conducting engineering sampling and tests.

Demonstrate a good understanding of inspection/measurement equipment to perform testing and dimensional studies in support of engineering studies/validations.

Performs hands-on processing and tooling troubleshooting with thermoplastic and silicone (LIM) injection molding including process optimization using scientific analysis and engineering studies

Maintain current knowledge of safety standards and regulatory/quality standards.

Follow GMPs, proper record-keeping procedures, and appropriate communication skills to maintain total compliance.

Serve as a core team member or extended team member on production or engineering projects as required.

What we're looking for:

Basic Qualifications

In-depth knowledge of injection molding machines and ancillary equipment including robots/sprue pickers, dryers, thermolators, color feeders, etc.

Strong knowledge of injection mold design and construction.

Excellent mechanical aptitude, and skilled in the use of hand tools and measurement equipment.

Good communication, organization and interpersonal skills.

Must be experienced in MS Office software.

RJG Master Molder I certification

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on injection molding processing experience in medical device manufacturing.

Hands-on experience with silicone (LIM) injection molding.

2-year technical degree in plastics.
