Were searching for a paralegal to join our Patent Transactions Group (PTG). PTG is a group of dedicated professionals and support staff in Intels legal department that manages complex transactions and strategies related to Intels world-class patent portfolio. As a member of PTG, you will be responsible for assisting in-house attorneys, a legal operation manager and senior paralegals in all aspects of legal operations including patent and business research, data entry, matter management, document retention, and budget tracking.

Detailed description:

* Obtain patent data and documents from USPTO and Espacenet.

* Conduct patent and business research for various patent transaction projects.

* Provide general operational support to patent acquisition, patent assertion and licensing group including vendor management, licensing database data entry, SharePoint site maintenance, document retention, metrics, periodically liaison with other Intel groups on legal-wide projects, and external relations.

* Calendaring/scheduling of meetings, taking meeting notes and coordinating work both internally for the attorneys and externally with outside counsel and other vendors.

* Assist in budget tracking for active projects.

* Entering data for open market and proactive purchase opportunities and assisting with managing and tracking acquisition and license projects.

* Work independently, with minimal supervision, to assist the management of multiple analysis projects at one time.

* Continuously appreciate and improve department mechanisms for efficient, timely and accurate results.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience OR an Associate's degree with a paralegal certification and 4+ years of experience.

* 2+ years of experience as a full-time paralegal or similar work function.

* Must have a high proficiency in MS Office suite skills, especially MS WORD, EXCEL, SHAREPOINT and POWERPOINT.

* This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Working knowledge of patent law and processes, including the individual parts of a patent, general patent terminology, an understanding of US and foreign patent prosecution steps, assignment of patents, and a general understanding of patent licensing.

* High proficiency in general computer skills and database applications (and the ability to embrace technology and new case management tools).

This position is for a temporary 3 year contract.
