This position is associated with the sale of Intels NAND memory and storage business to SK hynix (You can read more about the transaction in the press release - https://newsroom.intel.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2020/10/nand-memory-news-q-a.pdf). The transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business storage solutions, including client and enterprise SSDs, in the rapidly growing NAND Flash space amid the era of big data.

As the global leader in the semiconductor industry, Intel possesses many industry-leading SSD technologies including the most capable Quadruple Level Cell (QLC) NAND Flash products. As a Director - Quality and Reliability Engineering, you will be part of a world-class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK hynix.

This position aligns to Phase 2 of the transaction, which includes NAND technology and component development along with fab operations. Employees aligned to Phase 2 will continue to be employed by Intel and will continue to develop NAND technology and components and manufacture NAND wafers at the fab. Phase 2 of the transaction is expected to close in March 2025, at which time employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition employment to SK hynix.

You will be part of an exciting team that is leading the development and productization of 3D-NAND technology for use as Non-Volatile Memory in the Data Center and client Solid State Drives (SSDs). You will be directing a Quality & Reliability Engineering team that will be responsible for technology development and timely qualification (PRQ), as well as HVM shipment of 3D-NAND silicon as a key component into the SSD product. In this role, you will lead the department of ~100+ technical resources covering various aspects of Q&R engineering activities such as quality & reliability data generation, analysis & failure analysis towards successful 3D-NAND silicon technology certification, qualification, and ramp. You will closely collaborate with other teams involved in the same journey in Fab68 (Dalian) and 3D-NAND technology and product engineering to set strategic directions & allocate resources to achieve the Quality & Reliability goals and objectives. As responsible leader of this group, you will focus on organizational developments including employee talent / skills development and performance management.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Candidate must possess a Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. degree in an engineering discipline such as Electrical, Chemical, Computer and Material Science or Physics.

* 10+ years of experience managing engineering team in support of silicon technology and/or product development.

* 5+ years of experience in quality and reliability engineering of semiconductor technologies (logic, memory etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

* 2+ years in Non-Volatile Memory technology including product development and reliability engineering

* Demonstrated experience in device physics, reliability statistics and failure mechanisms

* Experience in analytical lab test equipment such as logic analyzer, memory testers and SEM/TEM/iREM

The group is responsible for NVM technology design and development, complete Solid State Drive (SSD) system hardware and firmware development, as well as wafer and SSD manufacturing.
