Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY: Building, updating and forecasting detailed three-statement financial models for Telecom, Media and Cable companies which are used to project earnings and providing analysis of capital structures; Writing Telecom, Media and Cable industry and company-specific research reports; Conduct industry-wide research into the Telecom, Media and Cable sector and create industry-wide models by utilizing understanding of the competitive landscape; sector demand and supply dynamics and key drivers for industries; Analyzing the capital structure, capital allocation and liquidity needs of Telecom, Media and Cable companies; Generate fundamentally-driven long and short investment ideas across a broad portfolio of U.S. Telecom, Media and Cable stocks by performing valuation analysis (including relative multiples, discounted cash flows) to determine the fair value of a company/security; Conduct calls (pro-actively and re-actively) with institutional investors such as Hedge Funds, Mutual Funds and Pension Funds laying out investment recommendations, valuation techniques and views on industry trends; Working extensively with the GS sales force, trading desk and strategy teams through bespoke, quantitative sector-specific requests; Conduct bespoke research and data requests in response to queries from Hedge Fund, Mutual Fund and Pension Fund clients; Work on IPOs (initial public offerings) and secondary offerings for Telecom, Media and Cable companies; Build proprietary Mergers and Acquisition (M&A) models when new deals are announced; Develop and maintain relationships with C-level management; Utilizing Excel (including creation of pivot tables, logical functions, data tables and writing macros), PowerPoint, Word, Bloomberg; Create Quantum data models; Conduct macro-economic analysis, with particular focus on monthly economic indicators.

Job Requirements: Bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, Liberal Arts, or related field. Three (3) years experience in equity research or in a related role. Prior experience must include two and half (2.5) years: Conducting equity research covering the Telecom, Media and Cable industries; Utilizing technical knowledge of Telecom, Media and Cable products and services to analyze company-specific business models, industry-specific data, trends and the competitive landscape, with a focus on 5G, spectrum, broadband technologies (FTTH, DSL, cable etc.), video and media business models, enterprise and fiber services and wireless services; Primary contributor to published equity research reports in Telecom, Media and Cable sectors; Constructing and updating Telecom, Media and Cable company and industry financial models, including M&A models and IPO models; Generating Telecom, Media and Cable investment ideas by utilizing valuation and modeling skills to develop an appropriate cost of capital, absolute valuation methodologies (DCF, FCF, DDM), calculation of returns on investment, sensitivity analysis, debt and leverage analysis to determine a Buy/Sell/Neutral idea. Prior experience must include three (3) years: Using accounting and finance principles with knowledge of both GAAP and IFRS, including reading and understanding company financial statements (8-K, 10Q, 10K) and debt filings, in order to build and maintain company models including key financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement); Marketing investment ideas to sales people, traders, and clients; Working with, analyzing and interpreting macroeconomic data such as GDP, interest rates, foreign exchange rates and the Consumer Price Index; Utilizing Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel (including logic functions, data tables and regression analysis), PowerPoint and Word; Working with financial databases including FactSet, Bloomberg, and Thomson ONE; Applying knowledge and interest in the financial markets in published written work product, using financial and economic terms. FINRA Series 7, 63, 86, 87 licenses required. Travel is required in order for the individual performing this position to meet with clients, which are based throughout the U.S. and certain international markets, to meet with the management teams of companies the team covers or may cover and to attend conferences. Approximately 10% of an individuals time in this position is spent traveling.
