Job Description



Specific Responsibilities:

A summer research internship is available in Knowledge Management in PDM at the Foster City, CA, campus of Gilead Sciences. The candidate should be enrolled in an Undergraduate Program.

The candidate will participate in the design, implementation and evolution of various Knowledge Management tools to support and accelerate processes in pharmaceutical development and manufacturing.

We are looking for support in Knowledge Management on 3 activities, across various KM projects- sustainment of business processes, training and communication, and value analysis.

Essential Functions:

Under general supervision, the activities will be modular and will likely look like the list below,

Application of knowledge management in the pharmaceutical

Interview SMEs or take notes to draw and complete business process maps

Research best practices of KM tool use

Identify vendors, with necessary AI, ML technology that complements current KM projects, such as mapping expertise to the people

Proficient use of Tools - SharePoint, MS PowerPoint, Excel

Establish sustainable template, i.e. PowerPoint dashboards and excel analysis of the Surveys and SharePoint statistics

Establish Training user-guides in PowerPoint

Organize SharePoint design based on feedback, if required (not mandatory)

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

* The ideal candidate will have the
* Interest in learning about the application of knowledge management in the pharmaceutical industry
* Tools- SharePoint proficiency, Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint skills for presentation creation.
* Technology mindset to learn and explore trending AI, ML tools and expertise

* Must be at least 18 years old
* Undergraduate (or graduate student, if applicable) in the or related field enrolled in a 4-year accredited university/college; including enrollment in the Fall Semester after completing the internship
* Good verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are required
* Ability to complete 10-12 consecutive weeks between May and September
