The Gilead Business Services center in Raleighs Research Triangle region will be home to some of the companys critical shared service teams in North America, including Information Technology, Global Financial Solutions, HR Operations and Procurement Services Desk. These functions provide the necessary support to ensure Gileads business runs effectively and efficiently. The center will also be a catalyst for standardization of processes, digital transformation and technology optimization.

The Director of Gilead ERP Transformation Organizational Change Management (OCM) will lead change management for the full ERP transformation program including increasing employee adoption and usage. Gilead is undertaking a massive, multi-year transformation initiative to move from Oracle to SAP S/4 HANA for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). This person will oversee a small team and focus on the people side of change including changes to business processes, systems, and technology. The primary responsibility will be maximizing employee adoption and usage and minimizing resistance. This role will work to drive adoption, higher ultimate utilization of and proficiency with the changes that impact employees, as well as enable improvements to increase benefit realization, value creation, ROI, and the achievement of results and outcomes.

This is a matrixed role and will require collaboration across IT and supporting business functions.

Essential Duties and Job Functions

* Lead and define the organizational change management approach including maintaining the adoption and change management plans, communications, and measuring progress.
* Oversee work of all change management leads on the program and ensure a cohesive team and unified work.
* Work closely with the Gilead C-suite, IT leaders, and key business owners and act as a coach for senior leaders and executives in helping them fulfill the role of change sponsor including ghostwriting email communications and preparing presentations to support their work.
* Oversee end-to-end change management for the program including all systems integration, internal team, and change champion work and serve as the point of accountability.
* Complete change management assessments, identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics, and identify and manage anticipated resistance.
* Address changes in business processes, organizational structure, and culture related to replacement of legacy systems with modern technologies.
* Proactively identify changes and events that may affect change saturation or acceptance of the transformation. Take action to address the risk or act on opportunities to combine change activities with other events in the company.
* Apply a change management process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.
* Integrate change management activities into project plan, evaluate and ensure user readiness, and manage stakeholders
* Track and report issues and follow proper escalation path
* Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress
* Craft communications that provide awareness and motivate users to transform the way they work. Manage the review cycle and execution of communications delivery across a variety of channels.
* Develop training strategies, document requirements and support the design and delivery of training programs for varying audience types
* Creation of instructor-led training decks and demonstrations
* Execution of train-the-trainer activities
* Storyboarding for computer-based training
* Lead change management activities, providing a structured methodology, standardized tools, and coaching to Change Managers.
* Estimate the level of effort and identify correct resources for each body of work.
* Evaluate readiness assessments and change management plans prepared by Change Managers.
* Work with Change Managers to understand change impacts and affected users related to the project. Ensure End User Assessments are completed to determine the degree of audience impact.
* Deliberate potential areas of resistance and mitigation approach with Change Managers; suggest interventions where appropriate.
* Oversee measurement systems to track adoption, utilization, and proficiency of users.
* Report on effectiveness of OCM activities and user satisfaction.
* Provide sustainment recommendations to incorporate OCM efforts into ongoing service offerings.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years Experience OR Masters' Degree and Ten Years Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

* Certification in Change Management practices
* Hands on change management experience in SAP deployment with technical/IT deployments
* IT business/industry experience managing cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders
* Strong executive presence and ability to influence leaders; skilled in asking the right question(s) - in combination - to elicit a response for the leader/team needs at the moment
* Strong understanding of how to integrate company principles, methodologies, and operational processes into day-to-day activities and behaviors, as needed
* Experienced in people management, managing both direct reports and matrixed organizations
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; expertise in converting technical messages into clear messages that outline why change is needed that appeals to key business personas
* Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to inform and influence leaders across IT and Gilead
* Able to understand and clarify business goals through consultation
* Understands how business goals integrate with project goals (why, so what) and translates those goals into actionable OCM strategies
* Strong ability to articulate the big picture with or without details and work in ambiguous situations
* Experience with coaching leaders on how best to contribute to transformation success
