The Gilead Business Services center in Raleighs Research Triangle region will be home to some of the companys critical shared service teams in North America, including Information Technology, Global Financial Solutions, HR Operations and Procurement Services Desk. These functions provide the necessary support to ensure Gileads business runs effectively and efficiently. The center will also be a catalyst for standardization of processes, digital transformation and technology optimization.

Job Description:

In this role, you will join a fast-paced Human Resources team serving as the first point of contact for HR related inquiries for the Americas region. We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic about their career in Human Resources, enjoys helping employees find answers to their HR related questions, and is interested in continuing to build upon their knowledge across all HR functions. This role should be viewed as a developmental opportunity within the broader scope of HR Shared Services with the ability to progress into higher levels of responsibility and expertise in specific functional areas. A successful team member will be extremely detail oriented, flexible with continuous process/system changes, possess a problem-solving mindset and will be able to handle a high pressure, deadline heavy environment.

Essential Functions:

* Be the first line contact for questions from employees, managers, executives and HR colleagues regarding HR procedures, processes and policies, with global consistency and local applicability.

* Proactively maintain and administer accurate and timely HR data in the global HR System; input, update and reconcile data as required to ensure information is current and accurate.

* Provide support for a range of HR administrative processes supporting the employee lifecycle, including such areas as Onboarding, Employee Service Awards, Tuition Reimbursement, Performance Management, Terminations, Unemployment Compensation and Verification of Employment.

* Contribute to the on-going development of the HR knowledge base to help employees quickly and easily find answers their questions via self-service.

* Troubleshoot HR related issues (or re-route if question should be answered by HR subject matter experts)

* Collaborate with other regional HRSS teams for alignment and knowledge sharing.

* Test new HR Workday enhancements prior to general release.

* Proactively identify areas of improvement in HR processes and documentation

* Participate in ad hoc HR projects as directed by team leader.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

* Possess a strong customer service orientation while maintaining a high level of integrity and confidentially with each interaction.

* Familiarity and understanding of HR policies and procedures.

* Ability to prioritize workload to complete assigned deliverables within the allocated timeline.

* Must possess strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook skills.

* Have a positive attitude about repetitive job responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications:

* High School and Three Years Experience OR Associate Degree and Two Years Experience OR Bachelors degree

* Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and telephone communication skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with HR and case management systems; Workday and ServiceNow is highly desired.

* PHR Certification a plus
