Primary Purpose of Job
The position manages the Account Receivable relationships with Constellation Retail customers. This individual is responsible for direct supervision of internal support staff based in Baltimore and/or Chicago (3 5 FTEs), in addition to any relevant first- and third-party contractors. The primary role is to ensure outstanding receivables are pursued in a timely and professional manner, issues are identified and escalated to senior leaders and peers, and department / company goals and objectives are met. This leadership role will maximize collections by leveraging and managing workflows in an advanced collection platform, deriving actionable insights from portfolio and customer level data, partnering with key stakeholders, and developing the RM analyst team to support this performance.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities
1 Supervise a team of RM analysts pursuing the collection of Retail accounts receivable to ensure timely and appropriate action. Including portfolio and data management, support of account reconciliation, negotiating terms for payment deferrals, settlements, and other agreements for collection with all retail customers.
2 Leveraging expert knowledge of Receivables Management processes and solutions to drive an integrated receivables approach, where possible leveraging automation and technology to drive efficiency and effectiveness improvements
3 Work closely with internal Sales and Operations departments to influence process and policy changes that are aligned with exceptional relationship management. Oversee escalation process of large customer resolution issues.
4 Supervise the preparation of presentations to Senior Management and end-to-end credit peers to communicate key collection risks and performance at the appropriate portfolio, line of business, or customer level.
5 Recruit, train, and develop a high-performance collections team to support the company / department goals and objectives
6 Coordinate, maintain, and manage first party collections call centers supporting our collection process.
Qualifications

Minimum:
BS in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related degree
At least 5 years of experience in a business-related field, including 1-2 years in key leadership role(s) with a track record of being influential at the business unit level and in the overall development of credit risk systems and metrics for a significant corporation
Advanced understanding of Collections in the Energy industry and strong understanding of financial and Retail energy markets
Thorough knowledge of credit and risk management fundamentals
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills with ability to handle multiple duties
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with commercial and functional partners, external counterparties, vendors, and senior level executives within Risk and Finance
Must be self-motivated and possess excellent time management skills
Strong MS Office, spreadsheet modeling, and data visualization / technical skills, including experience in automating manual processes
Knowledge of bad debt and write off process and its impact on the financials
Knowledge of frontend credit evaluation, bankruptcies, and workouts
Experience managing a team against metrics through creation of dashboards and holding team accountable to those metrics
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced energy environment

Preferred:
MBA, MSF, FRM, CPA, or CFA
Completion of formal credit training
program
Job Scope

This position is closely aligned with the business and functional leaders throughout the organization and is expected to foster and maintain strong working partnerships with their respective peers. Through its interaction with Sales, Operations, Accounting, Treasury, and Risk, the insights, decisions, and reporting made by this group can substantially impact the bottom line of the organization and are expected to reflect the risk profile set forth by the Risk Management Committee. Next to the origination group, this group has the highest level of interaction and impact with Constellations major retail customers.

This is a management position with a team of 3 5, or more, credit professionals. The RM Manager has sufficient credit authority to approve a meaningful relevant credit-related actions. (i.e. Settlements, Payment Deferrals, etc.)

In addition to the above, the RM Manager is responsible for:
Directly responsible to ensure end-to-end quality of service for the receivable management team, and as applicable any first party collection call center or contract support
Assisting in managing an integrated receivables management strategy supporting unique requirements across the portfolio and lines of business
Developing content supporting an integrated Receivables value proposition for delivery through training, communications, and where possible standardized processes, procedures, and guidelines
Identify and drive automation opportunities to accomplish process and cost objectives through a continuous improvement methodology realizing gains in efficiency and effectiveness
Segmenting the portfolio and analyzing trends across the customer base to identify areas of opportunity and vulnerability
Support mitigation and communications across an integrated credit team from deal approval to work out / third-party collection activities
