Become a Performance Insights Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, youll lead efforts to establish corporate metrics and targets, analyze key drivers of success through root cause analysis, guide efforts to estimate and evaluate metric impacts from improvement opportunities/efforts and work with operating units (OUs) to create and execute performance improvement plans. Youll work across the enterprise from Transmission & Distribution to Customer Service, Safety, Information Technology and elsewhere to help mature our metrics and uncover drivers of performance using evidence-based techniques.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

* Design and build metric trees that decompose company objectives into key component drivers
* Draw from operational expertise and insights from data analysis to identify key performance drivers
* Define core metrics to be tracked, associated subset of interconnected metrics and necessary data and analytics to describe interrelationships between metrics
* Tie operational performance to company outcomes
* Investigate areas of under-performance or areas where currently no metrics exist to understand performance
* Conduct root cause analysis (e.g. 5 whys, fishbone diagram), and identify and prioritize corrective actions which may include short term operational solutions or longer-term projects
* Deliver formal and informal presentations of findings and results to senior management at both the corporate and OU-level
* You will work collaboratively with business planning and performance management teams across the company as well as technical specialists, data analysts and operator subject matter experts

Qualifications
The essentials

* Bachelors degree from an accredited university
* Seven (7) or more years of experience developing or interpreting analytical results
* Experience managing projects and leading cross-functional teams, including managing or leading company performance improvement projects
* Good communicator with strong interpersonal skills
* Strong Microsoft Office skills
* Comfort with working with large data sets
* Experience developing and delivering presentations
* Able to drive and implement change in a change-resistant environment

The preferred

* Bachelors degree or higher in a quantitative or scientific discipline (e.g., mathematics, economics, engineering, natural sciences, computer science, business)
* Experience analyzing data to assess operational performance and determining corrective actions to address gaps
* Experience with companywide initiatives influencing implementation of objectives, processes, and projects
* Experience developing and delivering presentations for senior officers
* Knowledge and/or experience with industrywide methods to lead utility performance
* Experience with lean, six-sigma process improvement practices
* Experience conducting performance analysis using data analytics software (e.g. Statistical Analysis Systems (SAS))
* Familiarity with visual dashboard tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, SAS Visual Analytics)
